Eligibility
Educational qualification
Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university (or an equivalent recognised qualification). Final-year students may apply provided they produce proof of graduation by the date specified in the notification.
Age limit (as on the cut-off date in the notification)
- Minimum 21 years, maximum 30 years.
- Relaxation: SC/ST +5 years, OBC (non-creamy layer) +3 years, PwBD +10 to +15 years (as applicable).
Application fee
- General / OBC: ₹600 (application fee including intimation charges).
- SC / ST / PwBD: ₹100 (intimation charges only).

Selection process
SBI PO selection has three phases:
- Phase I — Preliminary exam: qualifying, online objective (100 marks).
- Phase II — Main exam: objective (200 marks) + descriptive English (50 marks).
- Phase III — Psychometric test, Group Exercise & Interview: 50 marks.
The final merit list is based on Phase II and Phase III marks (Prelims is only qualifying).

Syllabus in brief
- English Language: reading comprehension, cloze test, para jumbles, error spotting, fillers, vocabulary.
- Quantitative Aptitude / Data Analysis: number series, simplification, quadratic equations, data interpretation, arithmetic (percentage, ratio, time-speed-distance, profit & loss, etc.).
- Reasoning: puzzles, seating arrangement, syllogism, inequality, coding-decoding, blood relations, direction sense.
- Computer Aptitude: basics of hardware/software, internet, MS Office, networking.
- General / Banking Awareness: current affairs (last 6 months), banking & financial awareness, static GK, economy.
- Descriptive: one letter (formal/informal) and one essay in English.
